Winemaker Trizanne Barnard has always had an affinity for Cinsault, and she finally got the chance to bottle some of her own after tracking down a sustainably farmed vineyard planted on the outskirts of Malmesbury on granitic sand over shale soils. Because she chooses to harvest these grapes on the early side, the resulting wine is full of freshness and crunchy red fruits. If you like Pinot Noir, give this a try -- an excellent, versatile red to pair with fish and veggies as well as red sauce dishes. Looking for a white wine to match? Check out Trizanne's Sauvignon Blanc also available at the shop.
