Plavac Mali (PLAH-vats MAH-lee), meaning "little blue" finds its home on the stunning Dalmatian Coast of Croatia, particularly on the Peljesac Peninsula where extreme conditions yield what is considered to be the best Plavac Mali in Croatia. You can narly taste the sea spray in these wines. Plavac is a distant cousin of Californian Zinfandel and Italian Primitivo -- and while there are hints of that distinctive spice note in there, the Croatian expression is wholly unique. Skaramuča is one of the largest and most revered family-owned wineries in the region.
