Ciliegiolo (chee-lee-eh-JOE-low) has played second fiddle to the more widely celebrated Sangiovese grape, but this "little cherry" is finally experiencing a renaissance, and righfully so with its lively, fresh, easy to drink red wines. The San Ferdinando winery is located in the hamlet of Civitella south of the Chianti Classico region, where the Grifoni family has owned the land since 1850. It is comprised of 60 hectares of land, 10 of which are under vine with a focus on indigenous grape varieties. Organic
