In 1985, Jay & Virgina Baker began raising their three children Lisa, Ashli, and Drew on their Maryland farm, and it wasnt until 2008 that, together, the family was inspired to plant and cultivate a vineyard. Though not as easy as it sounds, and over many years - Lisa, Ashli, and Drew have grown Old Westminster Winery to a top Maryland wine estate, crafting some of the most unique and delicious wines in the state (and arguably the country). Winemaker, Lisa, crafts a lip-smacking rosé that delights in making its own rules -- Chamourcin grapes blended with a white piquette
Grape must (skins, pulp, seeds, stems) leftover from wine fermentation is used to make Piquette by adding water and sugar and allowing this mixture to ferment. It yields a love alcohol, slightly fizzy wine that is refreshing and easy to drink.
and a red piquette -- a wild, co-fermented piquette-wine blend. Organic
