Nascetta is a relatively unknown Langhe white grape whose wine is rarely seen outside of Italy. This rare variety was very popular until the end of the 19th century, was abandoned and rediscovered about 10 years and yet still there are less than 20 acres planted throughout the world. Mateo Ellena is the 3rd generation of Ellena Giuseppe, and he makes a very small amount of this wine, farming and making his wines in a very traditional way with a minimal-intervention approach. Nascetta is another example of a white wine that is approachable now, yet will continue to develop and gain complexity with a bit of age.
