Savignon Blanc finds its native home in the Loire Valley of France, particularly in the Sancerre appellation where it is lean, crisp, and textural (compared to the ripe, almost sweet fruit style of many New Zealand expressions). Domaine Martin is owned and run by Pierre Martin, located in the famed village of Chavignol where vines sit on soils of "caillottes" (chalky white pebbles), clay, and limestone.
