Savoie ("sav-wah") is a little-known wine producing region in France borderd by Switzerland to the east and produces both red and white wines based on local, indigenous grapes including Mondeuse ("mohn-deuhz") - the best examples of which are grown in the Arbin cru in southern Savoie.
