Michael Dillon's homestead of Bindi (so-named by his father in homage to his native India) is situated in the Macedon Ranges, and he is making some of the most stunning Pinot Noir there is-- not just within the scope of the Australian wine scene - rather he is among the top Pinot Noir producers in the world. He has studied the great domaines of Burgundy for many years, and while he isn't seeking to replicate these iconic French wines, there is a sense of inspiration. Michael's father Bill first planted vines on their property in 1988 with the sense that the cool climate and diverse soil profile consisting of quartz, volcanic topsoil, stilstone, sandstone, and clay would provide the ideal home for these varietals. The Dixon bottling pays homage to his father's Original Vineyard (planted in 1988) and the K Block vineyard (planted in 2001) for a delicious, perfumed, spicy, harmonious, textured wine. Organic
